Surf City USA Here We Come

There are 67,000 miles of coastline in the United States, but this seaside town in Southern California is the only place you'll find a complete package of authentic, contemporary beach culture. To spread that message worldwide, the Huntington Beach Conference and Visitors Bureau has launched a new "Surf City USA" marketing campaign.

The global marketing effort includes a trademark, official logo, franchise deals with merchandisers of everything from beach cruisers to furniture and advertising from brochures to magazine ads. The goal is to promote Huntington Beach as a destination resort, generate revenue for tourism promotion and make sure everyone knows a "Surf City USA" experience is synonymous with a Huntington Beach vacation.

"Our brand is taking off because the Surf City USA image we put out there is authentic and real, not some contrived image we concocted out of thin air," said Doug Traub, president of the Huntington Beach Conference and Visitors Bureau. "The Surf City USA brand includes not only sun, sand, beach and fun, but a free-spirited forever-young perspective that immortalizes our city.”
